The Montessori Method
Dr. Maria Montessori's method: the child learns with their hands, at their own pace, in an environment built for their abilities. At our centre it is licensed and adapted to every child.
Learning that follows the child
Maria Montessori began her work with children the system of her time rejected. She discovered that when a child is given the freedom to choose within an ordered environment, concentration and the joy of learning appear on their own.
Today the method is used in hundreds of thousands of institutions worldwide. Its core is not a set of materials but an attitude: respect for the child, belief in their abilities, and an environment that lets them act on their own.
The four pillars of the method
The prepared environment
A space arranged to the child's height and needs: low shelves, accessible materials, order the child can maintain by themselves. The environment is the "teacher" that does not speak.
Freedom within structure
The child chooses an activity from a set of options, yet every activity has clear limits, sequence and completion. That is how concentration and responsibility are born.
The sensorial materials
Learning passes through the hands: the child touches, arranges and feels numbers, letters and forms. Concrete experience builds the most lasting understanding.
The adult as guide
The educator does not teach from the front, but observes and supports exactly where needed, with respect for the child's pace and interests.
An adapted method for every child
At our centre the method is not applied "by the book" but adapted to the child's individual needs. For children with special educational needs this means structure that soothes, materials that speak to the senses, and a pace that does not compare.
We work individually and in small groups, in constant coordination with parents and the rest of the team: psychologist, speech therapist, occupational therapist and art therapist.
